Hearing aid connectivity essentially means connecting hearing aids to other devices that we use in our daily lives, such as smartphones, computers and TV. Hearing aids can connect wirelessly via Bluetooth to stream phone calls, stereo music, video sound as well as TV sound.
Patients can be trialed with digital hearing aids after the initial evaluation indicated a hearing loss and possible communication problems. The patient will be fitted in both ears, depending on the results, and can trial the loan pair for 2 weeks. During this time the patient will be followed up and new adjustments can be made if necessary, depending on the patient’s feedback. This process enables the patient to be actively involved in the decision-making process. Different levels of technology can be trialed in real world situations to determine if the specific choice of technology will be successful in resolving the communication problems.
My services include sending broken hearing aids for a service to the manufacturer. Patients will only pay the courier costs if the hearing aids are still under guarantee. For hearing aids that have no guarantee, a quote will be requested from the manufacturer and the patient’s consent will be obtained before the hearing aids are repaired. The patient will be liable for the courier costs. I sell all the necessary accessories at affordable prices for different hearing aid manufacturers. Digital hearing aids are completely programmable and can be adjusted if necessary. Patients previously fitted with hearing aids, are seen on a regular basis to ensure satisfaction with the hearing aids and to adjust the hearing aids should the hearing sensitivity deteriorate.
The practice can provide patients with custom made hearing protection, swim plugs, as well as sleeping plugs. The patient needs to make an appointment so that an impression of the ear canal can be made. The impression is then sent to the manufacturer and custom made for the patient. This insures a snug but comfortable fit.
